Good work! Human rights and labor rights due diligence tools for the garment sector in Argentina

This set of human rights due diligence (HRDD) tools address the specific labor risks and production structures identified in the previous sectoral assessment. This document describes the tools specifically designed for the Argentinean garment sector, for two different audiences: brands operating and using suppliers in Argentina, and workshops producing garments in this extended chain.

The following tools have been designed to help brands and workshops operating in Argentina address these challenges through a human rights’ due diligence approach. They correspond with this approach to the due diligence system and are specifically tailored to address the challenges identified in the Argentinean garment sector. Users of the tools will be able to deepen their understanding of human rights, due diligence and corporate governance systems, while responding specifically to the needs of the sector.

These tools have been developed in the framework of the ILO project "Evidence for Action: Increasing the Impact of Research to Mobilize Efforts Against Forced Labour" (E2A), funded by the United States Department of Labor. Its development and adjustment were developed jointly with Verité, implementing partner of the Project.

The overall objective of the Evidence to Action project is to increase the impact of research on efforts to combat forced labor. This project focuses on producing knowledge and tools to increase the capacity of the public and private sectors to identify, prevent and mitigate or remediate the risks of forced labor in the garment sector in Argentina and Madagascar.
